Nurse's Office

I am so excited to get to know all of you. I look forward to working with each of you and making this school year a very healthy and successful one. Please remember that you must stop by my office /room at registration if your child takes prescription medication. Also, feel free to stop by and say hi. I am a Licensed Vocational Nurse (5 years) who has been in the medical field for over 20 years. I've worked in a variety of healthcare settings which include  home health care services, nursing home facilities and healthcare agencies that provide healthcare services specific to the geriatric population. For the last 13 years, I have worked at the Austin State Hospital where I started out as a ward clerk. I then moved up to unit secretary, then on to unit timecollector which I did for 4 years. In 2012, at Austin State Hospital, I was promoted to the Child Psychiatric Unit as the building manager and unit supervisor. While in this role, I returned to school to obtain my nursing degree and after graduation became the medication nurse on the Forensic Unit. I plan on getting my Registered Nurse's degree in the near future to increase my nursing knowledge. I am a well rounded, fun loving individual. I have been married for 20 years and have 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

I've been working with kids for 16 years. I have served students and families as a SPED Education Aide, Teachers Aide and Nurse Aide. I have 3 kids (2 girls and 1 boy), 1 dog and a grandpuppy.

A few of my favorite things include cooking, playing sports, shopping and spending time with my family.
